ABC has given a series order to the time-travel drama Life on Mars, the network confirmed during its upfront presentation for advertisers on May 13.
An American adaptation of the popular BBC SF series of the same name, Life on Mars will be executive-produced by David E. Kelley, who owns the rights to the show. It will star Irish actor Jason O'Mara (Resident Evil: Extinction) as a modern-day cop who is transported back to the 1970s.
Life on Mars will premiere in the fall and has landed the coveted Thursdays at 10 p.m. ET/PT timeslot, with Grey's Anatomy as its lead-in.
