Sort of like a mini-laptop then? Someone in one of my classes has one, but I didn't get a good chance to ask her what was what.

Pretty much! I have one and it's great to haul about for those times when a computer (with WiFi) could be useful, but you don't want/need/can't manage something else.

That being said, the screen is small, which makes keeping up with some pages a little difficult and IRC chat darn hard.

I think she mostly uses it for e-mail and stuff, but there was a problem with her school's wifi and Linux and I might be confusing stuff so... sorry I'm not helpful!
