Feb. 3rd, 2004 03:18 amI am rearranging my bookshelf. I never throw any books away. Bits of oddities from "Karra's Shelves"
- "Chris-In-The-Morning", a Northern Exposure quote book.
- "My First Bible", a cardboard bible geared towards 10 year olds. It is very short, and it is illustrated (though not as comic-booky as the also-in-here "Illustrated Bible"). The art is strangely 60ishish, considering it was made in 1980 (meaning mom bought it when I was ONE).
break:
Things I learned from My First Bible's Illustrations
* Whales are pink and frolic alongside giraffes and peacocks.
- Eve's head was on backwards.
- Noah was bigger than his Ark, and so had to sit on top of it.
- Camels don't have legs, and swim through the sand.
- Ancient Egyptians actually do walk like that.
- The sun was incredibly low to the ground.
- There are actually only 6 commandments
- The angel who spoke to Mary didn't have wings, but wore a fetching green cape.
- Children from the 80s timetraveled back in time to witness the crucifixion, which was apparently done with tacks.
- Upside down blue arcs are common.
- Doves divebomb virgins ALL THE TIME.
Back to the bookshelf:
- Treks Not Taken, which is a "what if these famous people wrote Trek episodes?! type thing. Dude, it's like fanfic that they PAID for.
Samples:
"The Crusher in the Rye"
"A Clockwork Data"
"One Beamed Onto The Cuckoo's Nest"
"Jurassic Trek"
"The Ship Also Rises"
"Less Than Data"
"Trek-22"
"All The Pretty Humans"
"Lady Fed"
"A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Fan"
"The Vampire LaForge"
"Even Captains Get The Blues"
"Q Clearance"
"Moby Trek" (Data and Worf get married, I think)
"Fandom Shrugged"
"Holodeck 5" (I'll give a kiss to whoever guesses what that one is a parody of)
"Trek of Darkness"
"On The Bridge"
"The Trekking" ('All work and no play gives boys a dull Will!")
and my favorite:
"Oh the Treks You'll Take!"
So wrong.

Feb. 3rd, 2004 08:34 pmPanorma Video, you bastard.
videos rented:
"The Prophecy"
"The Prophecy II"
"Running Against Time"
"Watchers" (Which I rented by accident. It was behind the "Waxwork II" case)
"Purgatory Flats"
"Lost in Translation"
"Cabin Fever"
I went to FIVE video stores, and of the five only one carries boondock saints, and someone forgot to return it with it's case.

Feb. 3rd, 2004 09:40 pmLiberty Street Video, you are evil for having 17 copies of "Bucket of Blood", 10 copies of "Haxen", 20 copies of some weird ass cartoon about a happy Dilbertian type couple who is dying of nuclear fallout and 5 copies of "Demoni II", but only one copy of "Phenomena" and only one copy of David Lynch's "The Alphabet/The Grandmother".
And you call yourself a cult video store. Where am I supposed to go when I want my fix of italian movies starring Jennifer Connelly and movies about women giving birth to the alphabet? Where?
Damn you, Liberty. Damn you.
